If you haven't explored Beat 7 yet, or haven't been there for a while, maybe now is a good time.
It's got to be the easiest parking - within a few yards of the river, and the ground is level and easy going, at least for a few hundred yards. It's not advisable to try wading, as the bank drops steeply away andf the water is several feet deep straight away, but at least there's no clambering up and down slopes here.
The Beat has had mixed results in the past, but one of our members, John, has caught Rainbows and Browns there in the last few days.
John does advise a long-handled net to land them, but it was good to hear that there were plenty of rainbows rising to dries there today. About time too.
Happy hunting
Peter
